Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, according to news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
